Do you need to make some changes in your life? Maybe you have made a decision to finally take the plunge and go after a dream you have had for years and years. Or, perhaps you want to make a few minor life adjustments. But, these changes or dreams seem so BIG and so far away right now, almost unattainable from where you are.   Do feel like you are sitting on the edge of a cliff, feet dangling down, just watching your dream or life as you would like it to be, way off in the distance? It looks beautiful, and you LOVE watching it, but you can’t figure out how to build a suspension bridge to that other side so you can actually live out those changes or dreams.

Then all of the sudden, something happens inside of you, as you glance across the way at your life and the way you want it to be. FEAR sets in and the rational brain sends up all kinds of red flags telling you there is danger ahead if you try to make changes in your life!   FEAR says, “you can’t do this, it’s not for you, don’t even try, it’s too dangerous.” “Please stay here where it’s safe, predictable and easy… just let your feet dangle over the edge, its OK.”

As time goes by, you begin to watch others building the bridge to get where they want to go in life. You say to yourself… HEY, THAT COULD BE ME! Then, once again FEAR tells you to sit down and dangle…maybe tomorrow, next week, next month will be the right time… but not today.

So how do you build a suspension bridge? A bridge that will take you from where you sit today (dangling your feet over the cliff’s edge) to the other side (where you want to be)? How do you bust right through your fear, that paralyzing, stifling fear, holding you back from getting what you want?

Building a suspension bridge to the other side takes thoughtful planning and execution! The bridge must be strong and secure so you can walk across it with faith and the belief it will hold you. It must be built to sustain the high winds; there must be a plan put in place when cables snap or boards break and there must be a strategy for hanging on, especially when others come at you head on and trip you up. Will it be scary? Yes, many times it will be…but you have built a strong suspension bridge and you fully believe you will get to the other side!

If you are looking to build a suspension bridge to get what you want in life…ask yourself these questions:

  1. What do I want to change or go after?
  2. What homework and research will be necessary and helpful?
  3. What are the risks involved?
  4. What are the benefits?
  5. How much money will it cost?
  6. How much time will it take?
  7. What are the people I am closest to telling me?
  8. What is my intuition telling me (our key decision maker)?
  9. What is my heart telling me (your heart must be totally in it)?
  10. Based on what I know now… do I want to cross the bridge to the other side?

THEN WITHOUT RESERVATION, STEP ONTO THE BRIDGE BY BELIEVING IN YOURSELF AND TAKING YOUR FIRST LEAP OF FAITH BECAUSE YOU KNOW YOU CAN DO THIS! IT IS A LEARNING AND GROWTH EXPEREINCE WITH LOTS OF OPPORTUNITY! YOU ARE SUCCESSFUL AND HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO GET TO THE OTHER SIDE! I BELIEVE IN YOUR ABILITIES! I BELIEVE I YOU!

IS THERE SOMETHING IN LIFE YOU REALLY WANT, BUT FEAR IS KEEPING YOU FROM BUILDING YOUR SUSPENSION BRIDGE TO REACH ACROSS AND GET IT? WHAT DOES THE “OTHER SIDE” LOOK LIKE IN YOUR LIFE? DO YOU HAVE A PLAN FOR TALKING THAT FEAR GETTING IN THE WAY?
